Women’s Ministries

ENCOURAGE women to know and love JESUS

Provide an avenue for women to ENGAGE with other women of various ages and life-stages

EMPOWER women for service in ministry wherever the LORD may lead.

Our Women’s Ministry sees value in every woman and desires for her to feel that personal self-worth.  We strive to engage more women and expand our ministry footprint – to nurture and encourage women throughout the year.  As a woman participates in Oak Grove’s Women’s Ministry she will benefit from each experience.  As GOD reveals His love to each of us, we are able to enjoy the beauty of new and lasting friendships as well as encourage our sisters in service to GOD.

Christian Resources & Events for Women

Ladies, if you are interested in learning from informative, inspirational articles written by and about women of faith, then you will definitely want to add Lifeway’s Women’s Ministry page to your reading list.  This is an excellent forum where women come together to share knowledge, ideas and encouragement geared toward empowering one another in the faith.

You will also want to mark your calendars!  There are several exciting events coming up in 2018 that you won’t want to miss!  Let’s have a look:

“Be My Guest”

Be My Guest gatherings encourage women within Oak Grove to get together.  We really want women to connect with each other within Oak Grove.  Think about who you can invite to lunch to establish a closer tie.  Look in your Bible study or around at those that sit in the sanctuary and think about inviting them to lunch.  Team up with someone and get a group together.  These gatherings are centered on fellowship, conversation and missions.  The next Be My Guest gatherings are planned for March 18 and May 6 – all Sundays and all will be held in Education Bldg. #2.

Lunch and dessert will be served promptly at 12:30pm followed by a time of fellowship to encourage one another and simply join together as Jesus did with people from all walks of life.  For more information, or if you would like to attend a Be My Guest event, please contact Mary Frances Tracy 410-746-5353 or Diane Weih 410-459-0495 or email at womensministry@oakgrovebaptist.com.

2018 Women’s Conference – Saturday, March 24

Attention Ladies of ALL ages – you won’t want to miss this year’s Women’s Conference featuring author, Dani Pettrey’s “Why God Keeps Us in Suspense.”

“Why God Keeps Us in Suspense”

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.

To Him be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:36 ESV

Gracie Headshot Monteray-2

What woman doesn’t love to read a book or watch a movie that entails romance with high risks and edge of your seat suspense? It’s that moment that keeps us guessing and wondering who is behind that dark unopened door and how a heinous criminal will be brought to justice. We all crave it like sharing a good bowl of popcorn with someone we love and an extra soft set of blankets.

But what about when you find yourself facing real life suspense? There is no pause button or option to return the book. It’s not fun when it feels like God has flipped the switch and we frantically pat each wall trying to turn it back on. That’s when faith comes in.

Dani Pettrey is quite the thrill seeker. She’s checked heli-skiing, cave diving, and storm kayaking off her bucket list, but she’s still not done. Her occupation includes detective work with the FBI, criminal investigations, and forensic anthropology. Well, at least that’s what she writes about. Author of eight novels, she has sold over 300,000 copies of her books. When she’s not inventing stories of inspirational romance and risky situations, she fulfills her role as wife and mom to two daughters, a son-in-law, and two grandsons.

With her pen, Dani can dictate each action of her characters, but in real life, she struggles with relinquishing control. She has to remind herself daily, like most women, who’s really in control. Handing her worries over to God in exchange for peace that passes all understanding has made all the difference.

The conference will also feature the beautiful voice of worship leader, Tina Testerman.

If you enjoyed the valuable information and fellowship at the 2017 Women’s Conference (or if you missed the conference) – and would like to be part of the planning team for the March 24, 2018 Women’s Conference, please contact the church office.

(Note: Walk-ins are welcome the day of the conference, but lunch cannot be guaranteed.  Cost for the 2018 conference is $25 (women under 25 years $15) if tickets are purchased by March 1.  After March 1, tickets will be $30 (women under 25 years still $15).  Please bring a non-perishable food item for our Community Food Pantry.
